Although Liverpool are yet to enter formal talks with Salah over his future, discussions are expected to take place in the coming months. Liverpool face crucial decisions regarding the future of their star player, Mohamed Salah, as the club are rumoured to be planning to open talks in the new year. Speculation is rife that the club would be willing to consider a £200m bid for the Egyptian winger in the upcoming transfer window.

Although Liverpool are yet to begin formal talks with Salah over his future, discussions are expected to take place in the coming months. The player's diminishing contract and interest from the Saudi Pro League could influence negotiations between the two sides. Despite being one of the best players in the world and having made a significant mark at Anfield with 198 goals in six seasons, financial realities could play a crucial role in Salah's fate.

The club is in a situation where it could be forced to consider significant offers, especially if the player shows no interest in extending his contract beyond the 2024/25 season. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have previously expressed an interest in Salah, tabling substantial offers. Last summer, a £150m bid was rejected, but the Saudi club are expected to step up their efforts in future transfer windows.

Salah's price tag

Salah, being the highest paid player in Liverpool's history with a contract worth £350,000 a week, could find offers more attractive in financial terms. At 31, the Egyptian could consider a new challenge, and Liverpool could be tempted to accept a significant offer in the region of £200m if the opportunity arises. The upcoming transfer window will be crucial in determining Salah's fate, and Liverpool will have to carefully weigh the financial offer against the player's importance to the team.
