Luis Díaz had a quiet performance in Liverpool's victory over Brentford

The Colombian returned to the starting lineup as a central forward against the Bees but struggled to make an impact against the home team's solid defensive work.

Díaz was part of the attacking trio alongside Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, amid uncertainty over his starting role after Diogo Jota's standout performance in the previous match against Nottingham Forest.

Coach Arne Slot decided to trust him and gave him another chance from the start, but Lucho was not at his best. He only had one clear scoring opportunity, which came in the 63rd minute when he struck a powerful shot inside the box that was well saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

Two minutes later, Slot made changes: Díaz was replaced by Darwin Núñez, with Gakpo moving to the left flank.

The coach's decision proved decisive as Darwin Núñez scored two late goals to secure a 2-0 victory for the Reds in a crucial away match.

Luis Díaz played 65 minutes but failed to stand out. He will now focus on the upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture, though Liverpool has already secured qualification for the round of 16 with a perfect record.
