Jordan Henderson asks to be saved by the Reds but only on Steven Gerrard's terms

The midfielder does not intend to stay in Saudi Arabia for a single second longer

Former Reds captain Jordan Henderson is desperately seeking to break off all ties with Al-Ettifaq, desperately looking at all sorts of options in Europe that he believes might be suitable, while it is true that offers from clubs such as Juventus and Ajax are by no means negligible, the England international would like to be able to make a final move to Liverpool, a club that seems to be not at all interested in bringing back a midfield player who can offer less than the reinforcements obtained in the summer of 2023.

But even though Henderson knows that his current abilities do not allow him to match the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, Jordan has no problem accepting any conditions that would open up the possibility of returning to what was still his home just over six months ago.

The only real possibility that Hendo could become a Liverpool player again is if Klopp wanted him to be Thiago Alcantara's understudy, but this whole situation would fall apart as Steven Gerrard and Al Ettifaq do not want to let go so easily a great asset they have, looking for the Saudi club and the coach to benefit from this situation with an exchange with the Merseyside club.

Steven Gerrard seems to have in mind to let Hendo go without complications only if a player from the Reds' defence arrives in Arabia, with Al Ettifaq holding firm on that line of wanting the services of players like Joe Gomez or Joel Matip, with Liverpool's number 2 shirt being the most attractive asset due to his multi-functionality and his great performance so far.

Henderson to be replaced by the Reds

Although Jordan Henderson will eminently be on his way out of Al-Ettifaq in a few months' time, the Saudi side will be rewarded with the arrival of a former Merseyside player in Thiago Alcantara, who could join the Arabian experience as Hendo's replacement at the end of his contract.
