Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised the Reds’ supporters, describing them as “very special” in his Christmas message.

The Dutchman, who took over at Anfield in the summer, said that although he has only been at the club for six months, he has quickly learned why Liverpool fans are renowned globally.

"I've only been here six months or so, but in that short space of time I've learned very quickly why Liverpool fans are considered very special all over the world," Slot said. "They are passionate, they are loyal, and they are always there to support the team, no matter what."
