When Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas came off the bench, the Portuguese forward revealed that they shared a memory and planned the move that would lead to the equalising goal. "In fact, I told him we were watching the cup goal from two or three years ago when he passed it to me, and we were on the sideline. I told him: 'Let’s do it now, let’s recreate your assist, take the corner'. It was a goal, one of those moments where everything worked out. But as I said, I’m not happy because I think we could have won."
Regarding the performances of Nottingham Forest’s goalkeeper, Brice Samba, Jota commented: "I was telling my former coaches at Wolves: I think he made two great saves. Obviously, you want to do better [in front of goal], but I think he was also good." Jota acknowledged the quality of the opposing goalkeeper, even though Liverpool couldn't secure the victory in this match.
On Liverpool's position at the top of the table, Jota was pragmatic: "It’s a long way, in the Premier League, wherever you go, even at home, it’s always difficult. It’s one more point, but obviously, we wanted three."
The Liverpool forward made it clear that while the draw was valuable, the team remains focused on winning each game to stay in the title race.
