Klopp hopes Liverpool player can finally shine against Rangers

It has not been an easy season for Jurgen Klopp. In addition to poor results and an inconsistent campaign in both the Premier League and Champions League, there have been injuries to his players. The latest on the list is Colombian Luis Diaz. The Colombian-born player suffered a knee injury in the defeat to Arsenal and it was the Liverpool manager himself who confirmed his absence on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League clash with Rangers.

"Six to eight weeks, we'll see. He seems to be recovering quickly, but we'll see. It could have been worse. It's not great, but it's the situation, and we have to deal with it," said Klopp, who acknowledged that Diaz got off cheaply in the middle of it all. He even said that "after the Arsenal game, in the dressing room, we knew this would be the case. We had a bit of luck with Trent (Arnold), as his ankle doesn't look good. Diaz, we'll see. It looks like it's going to heal fast.

As such, the Colombian will initially not see action until after the World Cup in Qatar and will miss at least the next six Premier League fixtures, the Champions League group stage and a Carabao Cup game. Beyond regretting it, he was reassured that Diaz's injury was not as serious as it seemed. He assured that he will have him back sooner than many think.

For the time being, Klopp will have to make do with the other players he has available to try and mitigate Luis Diaz's absence on the pitch.
