Some of the problems that a team can present during a season do not necessarily have to be located on the pitch, as off the pitch there are endless variants that manage to deconcentrate the player from their objectives, forming a negative environment that sometimes can no longer be managed by the manager himself, a situation that Jurgen Klopp and his most experienced players have been able to handle.
One of the most experienced players within the red institution is Joe Gomez, a defensive player who since 2015 to date has defended Liverpool's colours, albeit on many occasions from the bench. The 25-year-old Briton has seen the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and a number of players completely change the face of the club. Since the manager came in, there have been signings and top players have been added, but we've been together for a while and we know each other well."

Neither Núnez nor Gomez, this was Klopp's most disappointing player in the first half against Ajax
When situations on the pitch are adverse and things don't end up going according to what the German coach expected and indicated, the Reds defender revealed that among his teammates there are honest talks about what happened, there being at all times that support and help to reverse the situation. "There are honest and frank conversations that can be had on the bus after games or in the dressing room. We just tell it like it is and support each other when things aren't going well."
Such negative scenarios have played out in many of Liverpool's games during the 2022-2023 season, with Gomez himself acknowledging and accepting that Liverpool's current situation is unstable and complicated, and looking from within the squad to fix the poor start that has them so low in the Premier League at least. "Fundamentally, it has been a difficult season compared to previous ones so far and we accept that as a team. All we want to do is try and work to do well."
Individual and collective work has been the foundation of Liverpool's success as they desperately seek solutions to a poor start to the season, with Joe Gomez himself a part of the mistakes his side have made over the 15 games they have played in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
