This summer has not turned out, so far, as many of us expected for Liverpool in terms of signings, as at this stage of the summer it was expected that we would have a full squad, but this is not the case. However, the two signings that have been completed have been very good acquisitions and in the 2023-2024 Premier League debut they proved it, particularly Alexis Mac Allister.
The 24-year-old Argentine midfielder arrived at Anfield this summer, as he was Jürgen Klopp's first big priority during this transfer window. A few days after the transfer window opened, Liverpool moved in and managed to secure his arrival at Anfield for €42 million, a price that was a real bargain as the Transfermarkt portal has him valued at €65 million.
In addition to getting a world champion for a great price, the signing of Alexis Mac Allister seems to have been a resounding success in sporting matters, as the former Brighton has quickly adapted to the scheme of Jürgen Klopp and already in his Premier League debut with our Liverpool impressed everyone, as he had a very outstanding performance.
Liverpool's first game of the 2023-2024 season was against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The match ended in a draw and Alexis Mac Allister was one of the best players of the team, as the Argentine had 10 possessions won, won 7 duels and completed 2 take-ons. No one in Liverpool surpassed him in any of those stats.
