Following their Champions League exit, Liverpool has set its sights on Julián Álvarez , the Argentine striker who shines for Atlético Madrid. The Reds are looking to strengthen their attack and are willing to make a multi-million-dollar offer, including one of their stars as part of the payment.

According to English outlet Anfield Watch, the Anfield club's interest in the former River Plate player is not new. Slot's team already tried to sign the Spider in last summer's transfer window, but negotiations fell through due to Manchester City's high demands.

Liverpool's senior South American scout, Gonzalo Siegrist, has been closely following Álvarez since his time at Millonario . In fact, the English club held talks with the forward and his entourage last year. Furthermore, Alexis Mac Allister, a teammate with the national team, has also played an important role in the club's entourage.

The Reds' sporting directorate, led by Richard Hughes, is working hard to complete the signing. They traveled to Madrid to meet with the player's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, and also collaborated with Julian Ward, former South American scout for Manchester City.

Ward used his network of contacts in Argentina to obtain detailed information about Álvarez, both on and off the field. Liverpool is willing to make a shocking offer, which would include a significant fee and the loan of Luis Díaz to Atlético Madrid
