Although Liverpool were able to overcome the absences they had against Aston Villa, managed to beat their opponents and also did not concede a goal for the first time this season, it was not all good news as Trent Alexander-Arnold seems to have suffered an injury and had to be substituted.
The Reds right back, who started as team captain for the first time this season in the absence of Virgil van Dijk, had a great game against Aston Villa, in which he provided the first assist of the game for Dominik Szoboszlai's goal, bringing his tally to 10 assists so far in 2023, the third highest for any player in European football.
Overall Alexander-Arnold had a very good game and an excellent debut as captain of the Reds, however it seems that alarm bells have gone off at the club, as it seems that Trent has suffered an ankle injury, the same ankle that a couple of weeks ago looked like it might keep him out of action, and now he seems to have hurt it again.
After the play in which he suffered an ankle injury, Jürgen Klopp decided to take Trent Alexander-Arnold off the pitch and Jarell Quansah came on in his place. The good news is that Trent was able to leave the field under his own power, but we will have to wait and see what happened to him and if Klopp's decision to take him off was more of a preventive measure.
