At last there seems to be good news for our Liverpool fans, as in the last training session two players have reappeared who could be very useful for Jürgen Klopp considering the current needs of the club, as both Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, have trained with the first team after recovering from their respective injuries and could be available for the first Premier League match against Chelsea.
Given Jürgen Klopp's pressing need for more midfielders, the reinstatement of these two players could be a real lifesaver, as since the departure of Fabinho for Jordan Henderson, Klopp has struggled to sign a new player to fill the gap, and now could be the opportunity for Thiago or Bajcetic to earn a place in the starting lineup and help the team while the signing of Romeo Lavia is finalized.
In that sense, many Liverpool fans are upset about how the negotiation for Lavia has been handled, since weeks ago it was reported the club's interest in the 19-year-old Belgian midfielder, but the Anfield board made three offers that were rejected by Southampton since from the beginning they established that they would not accept less than £50 million for Lavia, an amount that in the end it seems the Reds will pay, which translates as a waste of time as Lavia could have been part of some piece of pre-season and now it is unknown when his signing will be finalized and thereafter see his progress and adaptation to the team, which opens the door for other players to step up.
Much has been rumored about what could be Klopp's starting lineup for the match against Chelsea and although he seems to have it defined, the addition of Thiago and Bajcetic could make him reconsider his approach. Although both players still lack game pace, circumstances could lead to either of them getting minutes against Chelsea.
