This summer many players who would otherwise have stayed at the top clubs in European Football have decided to emigrate to the Saudi Pro League, a league that offers multi-million dollar contracts and has attracted great players such as Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino, both former Liverpool teammates and stars.
The first of the two to arrive in the Saudi Arabian league was Roberto Firmino, as the striker left Liverpool as a free agent this summer and it was rumored that other clubs in Europe would be interested in him, such as Real Madrid or Napoli, however the Brazilian striker finally decided to accept the proposal of Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League and joined the long list of players who have emigrated to the Middle East.
A couple of weeks ago it became known that Sadio Mané, for many a legend of our Liverpool, was no longer in the plans of the FC Bayern coach and a few days later it was made official his departure from the German club after only one season since he left Anfield just a year ago to join them, but his level was never the same as the one he showed with the Reds, so he finally ended up leaving for the Saudi league, where he is now Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate at Al-Nassr. However, there were many rumors that Firmino himself had sought out Mané to sign for Al-Ahli and now Mané has revealed why he did not want to reunite with Bobby.
In an interview with his new club, Sadio Mané admitted that Roberto Firmino did seek him out to join Al-Ahli, but Mané felt that was the wrong club (although he quickly said he was joking). "I spoke with Firmino, for sure, but I think he wanted me to come to the wrong club.... I'm joking. He (Firmino) always called me, I think two or three times to convince me to come to Al-Ahli because I had contact with them from the beginning (...) But when Al-Nassr came the I chose to go to Al-Nassr" he said.
