For several weeks our Liverpool has been linked with many players as possible candidates to arrive at Anfield this summer, this after it became known that the intention of Jürgen Klopp and the board is to renew the team's squad. One of the players who was strongly linked to our club was Gabri Veiga, although since a few weeks ago those rumors have diminished.
The 21-year-old Spanish midfielder currently belongs to Celta de Vigo, a club where he has already demonstrated his enormous talent. The Spanish team has hired Rafa Benitez as their new coach this summer. The legendary former Liverpool tactician who led us to the Champions League title in 2005 with the so-called "Miracle of Istanbul" will now manage Veiga and could be the key to Liverpool securing his signature.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Benitez held a conversation with a senior Liverpool manager to discuss the possibility of a transfer of Gabri Veiga to Anfield. Although Jacobs claims that the Reds have not made a formal offer, that conversation claims that the Liverpool board is still interested in the young player and could now have a strategy that would allow them to sign Veiga and meet his demands regarding playing time, as it has been reported that Gabri Veiga wants to get plenty of playing time at any club he might arrive at this summer.
According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool's intention would be to sign Gabri Veiga and loan him immediately to Celta Vigo so that the player can continue to develop in Spain, but already belonging to Liverpool, as it is believed that there is currently no club interested in the player that can guarantee him the playing time he expects.
