When the summer transfer window began, our Liverpool was one of the teams that was expected to have more activity, however at this stage and with the Premier League less than two weeks away from starting, the Anfield board has only managed to finalize the arrival of two signings which have been Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.
However, Jürgen Klopp's list of targets is very long and is not limited to Romeo Lavia, although it is fair to say that the defensive midfielder has become Klopp's priority following Fabinho's departure to Saudi Arabian football. However, there are other players who are also of interest to the German tactician and could arrive at Anfield this summer in a final move by the Reds board.
Such is the case of Gabri Veiga, the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder from Celta Vigo who has dazzled everyone in La Liga thanks to his good performances, especially the one at the end of last season in which he scored two goals against Barcelona. Veiga has been on Klopp's radar for weeks, however the player's playing time demands would be impossible for Liverpool to meet this season, but it seems that the German tactician has devised a strategy to sign him this summer.
According to Spanish media COPE, the Liverpool board has launched an offer of 25 million euros to Celta Vigo to sign Gabri Veiga. Said offer includes the player's loan for the entire 2023-2024 season, so Gabri would stay in Spain to continue having a lot of activity with Celta Vigo to join the Reds in a year's time.
