Curtis Jones is shaping up to be one of next season's big revelations

Although we have had many departures from the team this summer, our Liverpool still remains one of the best teams in the Premier League and will try to fight for the title. In large part, this is due to the young players we have at the club who are aiming to become the next stars of the team. One of those players is Curtis Jones, who at 22 years of age is one of the Reds' most promising players.

Curtis Jones is coming off a fantastic summer in which he was one of the key factors in England being crowned Euro 2024 U21 champions, which has motivated him to want to keep his good form and transfer it to Liverpool, where he is expected to get a lot more minutes than ever before, especially with the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho and thanks to the rebuilding plan being carried out by Jürgen Klopp.

This summer is turning out to be very different to what the Anfield board had originally planned, as they have not been able to sign the amount of reinforcements that were speculated at the beginning of the transfer window, however this could prove beneficial for Curtis Jones, as he will see his playing time significantly increased and now it will be up to him to convince Klopp that he not only deserves more minutes but also a place in the starting lineup.

Curtis Jones' new role

The opportunity for Curtis Jones to be a starter has opened up as Fabinho's departure to Saudi football has left Jürgen Klopp without a natural number six. In the last pre-season game against Leicester City, the German tactician used Jones in that position and Jones performed outstandingly well and could now be considered to fill the position vacated by Fabinho. "In this set up, it is one of the options. It is no secret we're still looking for players to join us," said Klopp about the possibility of Curtis Jones playing at six.
