PSG Steps Up Interest in Mohamed Salah Amid Potential Liverpool Exit

Reports suggest Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are ready to go to great lengths to sign Mohamed Salah at the end of the current season. The player's contract situation, with his Liverpool deal expiring in the summer, allows him to negotiate with other clubs from this month for a potential pre-contract agreement.

PSG "Willing to Do Everything" for Salah:

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, PSG are "willing to do everything" to secure Salah's signing. Despite already strengthening their attack this month with the addition of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for around £60 million, the French champions haven't ruled out the Egyptian's arrival at the Parc des Princes.

Contradictions in PSG President's Statements:

This isn't the first time PSG have been linked with Salah. However, in December, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi publicly denied any negotiations with the player. "He's a fantastic, amazing player, but we've never considered him, to be honest," Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports, adding, "We know all the clubs would love to have him, but this rumour about us is just not true." This statement contrasts with current reports suggesting strong interest from the Parisian club.

Salah Hints at Possible Liverpool Departure:

Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this year, Salah admitted that this could be his last season at Anfield: "So far? Yes. In the last six months, there is no progress there, we are far from any progress, so we have to just wait and see." These words further fuel speculation about his future.

Salah and Liverpool's Strong Form:

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah is having an exceptional season, with 22 goals and 17 assists in all competitions. Liverpool, meanwhile, are top of the Premier League with a six-point lead and a game in hand (against Everton), as well as leading the Champions League, where they have won all seven of their matches so far.

In summary:

PSG are stepping up their interest in Mohamed Salah, according to reports from L'Equipe.

Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in the summer, and he can negotiate with other clubs from this month.

There's a contradiction between current reports and previous statements from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Salah has hinted at the possibility of this being his last season at Anfield.

Liverpool are in great form, leading both the Premier League and the Champions League
