Tough Challenge Ahead for Liverpool
Liverpool now faces another away test with a trip to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with the Bees drawing 2-2 against Manchester City in midweek. This will be the second of three important matches in eight days for Arne Slot, who will look to rotate his squad once more, with a Champions League visit to Lille next Tuesday.
Tsimikas Challenge
Alisson Becker, however, remains the starting goalkeeper ahead of Caoimhin Kelleher, with Vitezslav Jaros third in the hierarchy. At right-back, Conor Bradley is pushing Trent Alexander-Arnold for a starting spot, but he may have to wait until next week. Kostas Tsimikas impressed when he replaced Andy Robertson from the bench in the second half against Forest and could move ahead in the battle to play at left-back.
Defensive Concerns: Gomez Injury and Konate's Role
With Joe Gomez injured, it is likely that Ibrahima Konate will continue alongside Virgil van Dijk in the heart of defence, although Konate was below his usual level against Forest. Jarell Quansah is an alternative, while Wataru Endo has featured there in two of the last three matches.
