Despite the demands of filling Jürgen Klopp's shoes, Arne Slot is doing a formidable job at the helm of Liverpool. The Dutch coach led his team to the top of the Premier League halfway through the season and is on a spectacular run.

Since the defeat against Nottingham Forest on September 14, the Reds have accumulated 20 wins in the 23 games they have played. However, Slot believes that there is room for improvement in the squad and Darwin Núñez is one of those targeted to leave the club in this winter market.

As TeamTalk anticipated, the Uruguayan attacker appears among Liverpool's transferable players for this period. In 2022, the Anfield Road team paid 85 million euros to get the transfer of Artigas, but has not yet managed to unlock his full potential.

In that context, he lost a place in Slot's consideration and Liverpool will put him on the market to see if he can recover the investment. Italian media have indicated in recent weeks that Milan is one of those interested in hiring Darwin's services.

The forwards that Liverpool wants if Darwin Núñez leaves

Although there is still nothing formal regarding the Uruguayan's departure, Liverpool is already planning for the future in case it happens. For this reason, the leaders already have two names noted to reinforce the forward line.

Marcus Thuram, runner-up in Qatar 2022 and one of the figures of Inter Milan, is the Reds' favorite. The Nerazzurri are open to negotiating him for around 85 million euros.

The other option for Anfield Road is Alexander Isak, the Newcastle striker who arrived from Real Sociedad in 2022 for 70 million euros, although the Magpies would now ask for a significantly higher figure.

Darwin Núñez's numbers this season

With the Reds shirt, the Uruguayan has played 23 games so far this campaign and scored 4 goals, as well as 3 assists.
