Despite his recent departure from Bayern Munich to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Sadio Mané remains a hot topic in Germany. In this case, because of some controversial statements made by his public relations director, Bacary Cissé, in which he fired a bullet against the Bavarian team.
"Selling Mané was not a football decision. His salary annoyed the Germans, they didn't understand that an African would come to the club and become the highest paid, so they wanted to get rid of him," said the spokesman for the Senegalese, whose time in Munich can only be described as a failure. "He has nothing to prove to the Germans. He didn't become what he is thanks to Bayern, but thanks to Liverpool. They were ungrateful at Bayern," Cissé continued on the 'After Foot RMC' podcast.
But he did not stop there. He also referred to Mané's assault on Leroy Sané at the end of the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City, after which the former Liverpool man was sent off by Bayern. "Anyone with knowledge of European football knows that Sané is a condescending guy, whereas Sadio is very calm. He has shown that wherever he has played. Sané pushed the boundaries," he concluded.
On the sporting front, Mané played his second official match for Al-Nassr on Sunday as they beat Raja Casablanca 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the Arab Club Champions Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo, with a powerful left-footed strike, Sultan Al-Ghanam and Seko Fofana scored the goals for the Saudi side, who will face Iraq's Al-Shorta in the semi-finals.
