There is no doubt that the Qatar 2022 World Cup, like all previous World Cups, is a great showcase for footballers to make themselves even better known. In this context, it is not surprising that, as happens every four years, there are several players who gain many suitors as a result of their good performances at the World Cup. This is the case of Moisés Caicedo, the Ecuador midfielder who, despite having been eliminated with his national team in the group stage of the tournament, became one of the sensations of the competition thanks to his good performances.

These good performances have aroused the interest of three of the biggest clubs in the Premier League (the league in which Caicedo plays for Brighton), such as Manchester United and Chelsea, according to The Sun, which join the interest already shown previously by Liverpool.

Thus, both the Red Devils, the Blues and the Anfielders will face each other in the transfer market to try to sign one of the most promising midfielders on the European football scene, Moisés Caicedo, who, remember, is only 21 years old. To achieve this, however, they will have to get their wallets out, as, according to the information in the aforementioned media, Brighton will ask for 70 million pounds (equivalent to 80 million euros) to sell the Ecuadorian, who is essential in the Seagulls' plans.

Although such a figure could be a bit exaggerated, the truth is that the potential and football shown so far, it could well be worth such a large financial effort. Without going any further, Caicedo has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League so far this season and has shown, also at the World Cup in Qatar, that he has ideal qualities to exploit in the English domestic competition.

Moisés Caicedo is coveted

In this sense, the Ecuadorian brings together several of the most important characteristics to succeed in the Premier League, as he is a very physical midfielder who has a lot of weight in both the offensive and defensive phase, being a clear example of the box-to-box profile that is so popular in England. For all these reasons, and although, as we said, 80 million could be excessive, for footballing reasons the money could be well invested. After all, as football legend Johan Cruyff said: "Millions should be on the pitch and not in the bank".
