Slovenian Benjamin Sesko was spotted by Jurgen Klopp in the friendly against RB Salzburg which the Austrian side won.

Liverpool recently faced RB Salzburg in a friendly. The Austrian side won the contest thanks to a goal from Benjamin Sesko. If media reports are true, the Reds are interested in signing the Slovenian striker, who was the best player on the pitch against the Anfield club.

According to Spanish source Fichajes, seven top teams are battling for Sesko's signature and Liverpool are one of them. Jurgen Klopp is reported to have been impressed by the performance of the 19-year-old striker, who is valued at €65m (£55m). The teenage sensation has more than three years left on his contract.

Salzburg have a history of producing quality young strikers. The likes of Erling Braut Haaland, Patson Daka and Karim Adeyemi rose to prominence at the Austrian Bundesliga club and now play for Manchester City, Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

The promising youngster

Last season, Sesko made 36 appearances in all competitions and contributed directly to 17 goals (10 goals and 7 assists). As far as the current campaign is concerned, the former Liefering striker has so far made 3 appearances under Matthias Jaissle, scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist.

The striker made his debut for the Slovenian senior national team in June last year and has so far scored 2 goals in 13 appearances. Liverpool already have ample quality and depth up front with stars such as Jota, Firmino and new signing Darwin Nunez. Therefore, it seems that they don't need another centre forward this summer, but anything can happen.
