Real Madrid have already defined their objectives for next season. The main priority will be to strengthen the defence and there will be signings in the central and two full-back positions. Precisely, on the right wing, the player who is at the top of the list is Trent Alexander-Arnold, as his contract with Liverpool ends at the end of the season.
Although it seemed that the footballer was not going to renew his contract with the English team and had his bags packed to land at the Santiago Bernabéu, the situation could have changed. The Anfield club have made a final attempt to change the defender's mind and redirect negotiations to address a hypothetical renewal of Alexander-Arnold with the club of his life.
Alexander-Arnold, closer to renewing with Liverpool
According to reports from England, Liverpool have taken a step forward to improve, and by a lot, their economic offer to try to retain the full-back. The English have reportedly offered their player a new four-year contract at 20 million euros each, a much higher amount than he currently receives and which would place him only behind Mohamed Salah on the team's salary scale.

This offer would exceed the one that Madrid would have planned to make from January, when they could officially begin negotiations with the player. If it is for the money, Alexander-Arnold could renew and stay at Liverpool, which would be a tremendous blow to the interests of the whites. The English full-back is considered one of the best in the world and his incorporation at zero cost was considered a golden opportunity.
Florentino's reaction
Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Florentino Pérez will react and increase his offer for the player, matching Liverpool's or even surpassing it. Alexander-Arnold is the priority target to strengthen the right-back position and Madrid knows that it cannot fail in this aspect if it wants to present a squad in good condition for next season, taking into account the problems that there have been in defence this season.
