Since his arrival at Liverpool, Thiago Alcántara has not been the player that Jürgen Klopp wanted him to be, and although he has been consistent, he is a player with a lot of quality that helps the team in the recovery of balls, with a very good touch, with a great vision of the field and with a great facility to get rid of opponents.
However, injuries have dampened his time at Anfield, and his latest injury sidelined him since last season, when in May he had to undergo surgery on a hip injury and when he was about to return a relapse halted his comeback and now there seems to be a slight possibility of his return.
Another player in the same position who has also been injured since the end of last season is Stefan Bajčetić, the 18-year-old has great potential and since his arrival at the Reds earned a place in the team, however an abductor injury in March this year halted his growth with the Reds. Bajčetić is a player with quite a few qualities being a very technical player who knows how to recover balls with very similar conditions to Thiago Alcantara, with a great touch of the ball so it is expected that he can return as soon as possible as he could be the third midfielder accompanied Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
After many months of uncertainty they could finally start earning minutes on the pitch and are expected to return after the international break. Both Bajčetić and Alcántara played as holding midfielders, a position that Klopp urgently needs, and although both Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have had a very good performance, their qualities are not defensive so the Spaniards would be the perfect complement for both Alexis and Dominik to play their full offensive role and show their full level.
