Without Karim Benzema due to injury, Al-Ittihad beat AGMK 3-0 in their Asian Champions League opener. With a brace from Romarinho and another goal from Haroune Camara, Nuno Espirito Santo's side got off to a winning start in the Asian Champions League. Without the former Real Madrid striker, but with a midfield of N'golo Kanté, Fabinho and Romarinho, the Saudi side took top spot in their group.

While the Champions League is warming up for the start of the new season in Europe, another continental championship is attracting the attention of world football these days. The AFC Champions League in Asia is putting forty clubs from up to twenty leagues in this confederation in contention for continental hegemony, a prize money of 4 million euros and, above all, a ticket to the next Super Club World Cup, to be held in 2025 in the United States.

It is not the first edition of the tournament, far from it, but the new power of the Saudi clubs, reflected in the signing of a good number of top players, snatching them away from European clubs, has given it an unprecedented boost. The presence of players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Neymar, Mané, Kanté, Bono, Koulibaly, Mitrovic, Rubén Neves, Milinkovic-Savic, Fabinho, Luiz Felipe, Malcom lend lustre to a tournament that will know its champion on 18 May, after a two-legged final. Before that, the group stage will run until 13 December, while the knockout rounds will begin on 12 February.

How much Fabinho would earn?

Fabinho already knows what it's like to win the Champions League as he starred for Liverpool in 2019. And now he will be looking to repeat this title but with Al Ittihad in Asia. While in Europe they pay 20 million to the champion, according to several reports in Asia the champion receives only 3 million which is a big difference.
