Liverpool are raising their game in the Premier League. Jürgen Klopp's side are unbeaten at the start of the season, recording just one draw and all other wins. The draw came on Matchday 1 of the Premier League against Chelsea, a direct rival at the top of the table, while the Reds have three wins from three against Bournemouth and Newcastle.

In the final minutes of a dramatic transfer window in Europe, Liverpool closed the transfer window for Ryan Gravenberch, a 21-year-old first-choice midfielder, who will join the club after a cold spell at Bayern Munich in Germany. The Dutchman, who came through the Ajax youth academy and excelled as a first-choice midfielder in Europe, put in some impressive performances in the Eredivisie in the same country.

This catapulted him to Bayern, who signed him for 18 million euros last season. A bargain for the quality of the midfielder. However, he struggled to adapt to the Bundesliga and, unfortunately, did not get as much playing time as he initially wanted. Gravenberch came in at times, and although he managed 34 appearances, the vast majority of them did not come from the starting line-up. In addition, he only scored one goal and one assist.

The spending

Liverpool brought in Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and now Ryan Gravenberch spending a total of 165 million. This figure is below the 183 million spent by Manchester United and a far cry from the 434 million spent by Chelsea on all their reinforcements.
