Ahead of Qatar 2022 World Cup, Liverpool will have a month of madness

Following the break for the FIFA World Cup break in September, Liverpool will play a total of 12 UEFA Champions League, Premiership and EFL Cup fixtures starting with their home league game against Brighton Albion on 1 October, with their last game before the Qatar 2022 World Cup on matchday 16 against Southampton at Anfield.

Jürgen Klopp's side currently sit in 8th place in the Premier League on the back of two wins, three draws and one defeat. They have 15 points and the perfect opportunity to make it three points from three when they host the Seagulls next Saturday in Roberto De Zerbi's Premier League debut after his time in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Elsewhere, the Reds will be looking to top UEFA Champions League Group A when they host Rangers at home on 4 October, return to Glasgow on 12 October, travel to Amsterdam on 26 October and close the group on 1 November at Anfield against Napoli. They are currently in second place with 3 points (goal difference).

October will be the crucial month to close the gap in the Premier League. On 9 October at the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool will play against leaders Arsenal, a duel with history and tradition. On 16 October they will host rivals Manchester City at Anfield, three days later at home to West Ham, before arriving at the City Ground on 22 October to face newly-promoted Nottingham Forest. They close the month at home to Leeds United on 29 October.

Reds' run of fixtures

November kicks off with the EFL Cup 1/16 Final against Derby Country, and to close the month ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Liverpool will play Southampton at Anfield. The Red's will play again on Boxing Day at Villa Park on 26 December against Aston Villa, and finish 2022 on 31 December against Leicester City at home.
