The German has had several reactions during the game against Everton

The Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton at Goodison Park had a very intense first half. Red coach Jürgen Klopp experienced it very intensely in his technical area suffering from the opportunities lost by his team and also from the blows received by several of his players. The score did not move after 45 minutes and remained 0-0, but there were several actions on both goals. The stadium stands also had a great atmosphere with the two fierce fans.

After greeting Toffes coach Frank Lampard, Jürgen Klopp sat on the bench at the start of the game. But soon after he stood up in the technical area to give directions to his boys. The Greek Konstantinos Tsimikas was one of the players who received the most advice from the leader of the Reds. Also the Portuguese rookie Fabio Carvalho was one of those who spoke the most with the German trying to accommodate him on the court in his first appearance as a starter.

Before the game, Klopp said he had had a crazy week because of the games against Bournemouth, which they thrashed 9-0, and Newcastle, which they won 2-0. Injuries were also a concern for the manager, with captain Jordan Henderson out of the game against the Magpies with a muscle problem. That is why he resorted to signing Brazilian Arthur Melo ahead of Thursday's deadline.

Klopp's first reaction came when Fabio Carvalho went to grass due to a collision with an opponent and ended up with a sore leg. The coach had a worried look on his face as another injury was possible in the team. The Portuguese rookie made his first start in place of Jordan Henderson. Although he was able to continue for the rest of the first half, he had to come off at half-time because the problem was more serious than first thought.

Injuries and failures make Klopp suffer

The Merseyside boss suffered another headache as the first half drew to a close as the Reds had chances to score. Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez returned to the field after a three-match suspension. In the 47th minute he had a powerful shot saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and on the rebound the Colombian Luis Diaz sent the ball crashing in off the right-hand post, missing the chance to put Liverpool ahead at Goodison Park.
