Liverpool's first game of the new Premier League season ended with a one-goal draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Although the team started well and went ahead on the scoreboard, they gradually lost control of the game and ended up getting a point as visitors.
As in the preseason, we could see that the best our Liverpool currently has is the attack, as before the 20th minute we were already up on the scoreboard with Luis Diaz's goal and minutes later we were about to take a two-goal lead, but Mo Salah's goal was disallowed for offside.
However, it was evident that the team needs to continue reinforcing before the end of the transfer window, as Chelsea not only managed to tie the game but also came very close to taking the lead and if it had not been for Alisson they might have won the game.
Jürgen Klopp, being the experienced coach that he is, is aware of what happened this day at Stamford Bridge and assured that this game is just the beginning as today's game does not define the course of the season and mentioned that our team will go for everything this season and shared his reflection on the first game of the campaign.
"I thought the start was pretty convincing. We scored two wonderful goals, one slightly offside. Then we opened the door for Chelsea. I thought we controlled the game as much as we could control the game," he said.
