It was a special weekend for Alexis Mac Allister. The Qatar World Cup-winning midfielder became Liverpool's star man after scoring his first goal at Anfield with a strike that travelled the globe. After arriving at the legendary Liverpool stadium this season, Macca scored his first goal with a spectacular right-footed strike in Jurgen Klopp's side's thrilling 4-3 win over Fulham in an epic late comeback to seal a 4-3 win.
Colo received a loose ball from the opposition defence, lined up for a long-range shot and struck with his full instep from just outside the box into the top left-hand corner of Germany's Benard Leno. That goal, after 38 minutes, restored the partial lead for the home side, who had opened the scoring after 20 minutes with an unintentional goal from Leno. Fulham, on the other hand, twice equalised before the break through Welshman Harry Wilson and Dutchman Kenny Tete.
In the second half, the visitors took the lead through Jamaican Bobby Reid, but the Red Devils responded spectacularly in the closing stages to take all three points thanks to goals from Japan's Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold after 42 and 44 minutes.
This goal should be enough for Macca to compete for the Puskas award that FIFA presents every year and he should win it due to the difficulty of execution as well as the fact that he scored in the best league in the world. The midfielder celebrated his first Liverpool goal in the 17th game since his arrival from Brighton, where he also left an indelible mark. The midfielder also made his 13th appearance in the British championship this season, always as a member of Klopp's first-choice starting line-up. It should be noted that the only game he missed was due to yellow card accumulation.
