Liverpool's winning streak continues and they have taken 16 points from a possible 18 so far in the Premier League. Against a West Ham side that is not exactly an easy opponent, the 'Reds' won with goals from Mohamed Salah (penalty), Darwin Núñez (scorer of a great goal) and Diogo Jota (3-1). Jürgen Klopp's side are second alone, 2 points behind Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, as Arsenal (5th) and Tottenham (4th) drew their derby (2-2) and are now 4 points behind the Citizens. Ansu Fati's Brighton (3rd) beat Bournemouth (3-1) and are now 3 points off the top.

It was West Ham who had the first chances, with Soucek's effort being saved by Alisson Becker. But Liverpool took the upper hand and went ahead in the 16th minute when Aguerd committed a penalty on Salah. The Egyptian star made no mistake in converting it, opening the way for the Reds' victory. Despite Liverpool's good play and chances, they were up against West Ham, Conference League champions and always dangerous despite the departure of star man Declan Rice to Arsenal. So Jarred Bowen popped up to equalise with a diving header from a Coufal through ball. It was the 42nd minute and it was 1-1 at half-time.

Despite Lucas Paqueta once again showing his quality - even the Liverpool fans gave him a standing ovation when he was substituted - Klopp's side were at ease in the second half and their persistence was rewarded when, after a long pass from Alexis Mac Allister, Darwin Nunez struck a great shot in the air to beat Alphonse Areola in the 60th minute. It was a goal of quality from the Uruguayan striker. But the game was not over, especially against a Hammers side who were trying to avoid what was their second straight defeat in the Premier League. But it was not David Moyes' side's afternoon and Diogo Jota made it 3-1 after Virgil van Dijk's long ball.

Darwin's gesture

The gesture of Darwin Nunez during the celebration of his goal against West Ham went viral on social networks and reminded us of Luis Suárez. He kissed his hand and wrist as the Pistolero did in his celebrations with the Reds. Nunez has said several times that Suarez is his great idol.
