Mo Salah is one of the obscure objects of desire for Saudi clubs. Benzema and Kanté's Al Ittihad have been among those pining to prise the Egyptian player away from Liverpool, but they are not alone. Al Ettifaq, coached by one of Anfield's idols, Steve Gerrard, have also tried unsuccessfully to sign the Premiership star.

With Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp refusing to sell Salah, Gerrard's Saudi club switched targets in the Premiership and snapped up Everton's Demarai Gray for €10m. Despite signing Gray, Al Ettifaq are not forgetting Liverpool's no and have expressed this in a veiled allusion on social media.

The Saudi club have used the Jamaican player's presentation on social media as an arcade game to mock Klopp and Liverpool. In the video, titled: Ettifaq Transfers, he walks past the Liverpool crest and various Reds players before stopping at a picture of Salah. At that point Jurgen Klopp's face comes up twice with the resounding message: No! He then continues the arcade game and stops at the Everton crest and the figure of Demaray Gray, with the message: "Demarai Gray to Al-Ettifaq, here we come".

A troll from the Al Ettifaq account in a clear allusion to Liverpool's blunt refusal to sell Salah despite strong bids for him. The Saudi market ends tonight and there are fears among clubs in Europe about the latest counter offers from Arabia. Gray (Ettifaq), Carrasco (Al Shabab), Luis Felipe (Al Ittihad) are three of the latest players to make the jump from Europe to the Saudi Pro League.
