Since the arrival of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool, several fans and media have expressed their disagreement with the signing of the Uruguayan to England, as several of them claim that his signing has been a failure and that so far he has not been the great striker he was in Portugal.
In the midst of the strong criticism exposed by Liverpool fans, former player Glen Johnson, came out in defence of the Uruguayan, stating that his process of adaptation to the team is in process and that he will be one of the players who will leave to talk about in Klopp's team, as he assures that he will be one of the scorers of the club.

"It's been hard to push him so hard and I think he's just now showing his class. He is a fantastic signing and I think he will be a great player for Liverpool for years to come," said the former Liverpool centre-back. He also extolled what Luis Diaz did when he arrived at Liverpool, stating that not everyone can have the same adaptation process as the Colombian and that so far Nunez has not been a failure, that it's all about giving him time.
"Everyone was too quick too soon to say Nunez was a disappointment. He hasn't been there for long. It's not easy to go to a big club and hit the ground running. Not everyone can do what Luis Diaz did," said the former Liverpool player. It is worth remembering that before the World Cup break, the striker called up by the Uruguay national team for the World Cup has managed to score seven goals in the last ten games, becoming Kloop's goal man in the 22/23 Premier League season.
While the majority of Liverpool's players are in training with their respective national teams for the World Cup, the Colombian is in England finalising his recovery process and is expected to return to full fitness for England's friendly games in Dubai. The two games of the England team will be against Lyon and Milan on 11 and 16 December respectively and will return to official competition next 22 of the same month against Manchester City for the EFL.
