German coach continues to be criticised for Liverpool's poor form

After having played eleven games in the 2022-2023 Premier League season, it is clear that the team managed by Jurgen Klopp is going through a bad moment in many aspects, being only moderately rescuable their performances at Anfield where they have managed to get three victories that keep them not so far from the top of the standings.

It is normal for every team to have a good effectiveness every time they see activity at home and with their fans, as both factors are sometimes fundamental and necessary to achieve the objectives of the week, being this an issue that Liverpool have been able to take advantage of on occasions by having the support of their fans who fill the Merseyside stadium, changing this situation when the Reds have to travel and play as visitors.

Former player Gabby Agbonlahor criticised Klopp over his reliance on home games: 'Mr Mentality Monster, Jürgen, five games away from home without a win this season - can he only get them up for home games at a full Anfield? Can he not get his 'mentality monster' team up for away games?'. Of Liverpool's three defeats on their record today, all three have come playing with home advantage, losing by one-goal margins to Manchester United (2-1), Arsenal (3-2) and Nottingham Forest (1-0), with their best results being a pair of draws on their debut against Fulham (2-2) and a goalless draw against Everton.

While in the Premier League Liverpool have not been able to get a win away from home, in the UEFA Champions League they have managed to do so and in an authoritative manner on the fourth matchday, where they beat Rangers of Scotland (7-1), although their debut in this European competition was in Italy, where they lost to Napoli with a 4-1 defeat, another sign of how bad it is for this team every time they go away from home.

Klopp accepts his team's failings

On Agbonlahor's words, Klopp spoke of his team's failings: "The goal we conceded was giving the ball away in a situation which should not happen, then our defending from the set piece was sloppy and they finished it off. But we should have put the game to bed by then". Before activities in England are completely suspended due to the World Cup in Qatar, Jürgen Klopp's side will play away to Tottenham on 11 November, with Spurs the only chance of a first away win before they return on Boxing Day against Aston Villa.
