Just five months after jumping ship from Merseyside and now sailing in other waters alongside Bayern Munich, Senegal international striker Sadio Mané has not been able to forget his fresh past as a Liverpool player and goalscorer, declaring on more than one occasion his gratitude to the English institution and showing interest that still lingers despite the distance and interests that separate them.
During the first few months of the 2022-2023 season, Liverpool expressed in all their competitions the lack of Mané in attack, because although it was not statements from his teammates or his manager that evidenced this fact, it was enough just to see the performance of the group on the pitch to know how much they needed their goal man of a few months ago.

Somehow, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and now Darwin Núñez have begun to eradicate the attachment that the institution had with the striker of African origin, although on the other hand, Sadio Mané has lived complicated weeks in Germany where his intermittent effectiveness and now his injury that almost left him out of Qatar are problems that make him doubt his decision and his footballing present, leading him to think about a possible return to England at any cost.
Although his contract with the Bavarian club runs until the summer of 2025, Mané would be willing to do anything to return to Merseyside as soon as possible, with a loan being the most viable option and through which the Senegalese could regain the confidence lost in recent months, benefiting Liverpool by having a striker they can trust for a season and who Jurgen Klopp knows well, while Bayern would gain in a year that killer they are looking for as a replacement for Robert Lewandoswki.
There have been countless stories where a player is loyal to only one institution throughout his career, and although Mané now wears the red colours but in Germany, this player still feels part of Anfield and its surroundings, a situation that could be detrimental to his career if Liverpool have already found in Núñez the killer they wanted so much as a replacement for Mané, being excluded from Klopp's plans even though not long ago he was an exceptional figure of the institution.
