The Pool is showing its worst face in many years. The poor results so far will undoubtedly lead to drastic changes at the end of the season, from the departure of players to board members, such as manager Julian Ward who is being eyed by Dutch giants Ajax to join the club next summer.
It should be recalled that at the end of last year, Ward, who had previously deputised for Liverpool's transfer mastermind Michael Edwards, reportedly made the decision before replacing him last summer to leave the club a year after taking the reins, a situation that put manager Jürgen Klopp in check as he watched the structure begin to weaken.
The player who will betray Real Madrid to fulfil his dream of playing for Liverpool
Klopp's biggest mistake, demanded his signature and now the player is leaving the club
The Englishman is credited with being an important part of the recent deals that the Reds completed in the last transfer window, such as the arrivals of Luis Diaz, Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez and even Cody Gakpo, as the recent addition. His imminent departure would bring to Anfield the arrival of Manchester man Ralf Rangnick, for whom Klopp has much admiration.
Ward's mastermind would be a major gamble for Ajax, with De Telegraaf reporting that the manager is due to leave the desk and take over the Dutch board as Ajax's new technical director, following the departure of Alfred Schreuder, who has fallen far short of the club's aspirations for the 2022/2023 campaign.
