It is no secret that Liverpool's great need at the moment is to get midfielders, since the summer transfer window began there has been talk about Jürgen Klopp's priority to sign young midfielders, since the departure of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner was budgeted, in addition to the fact that the Anfield board would be willing to listen to offers for other players like Thiago Alcantara.
In that sense, the Spanish midfielder, who did not have a good season last season and had injury problems again, has aroused the interest of several teams this summer. Over the last few weeks, Thiago has been the subject of multiple rumors that have placed him as the main interest of clubs such as Besiktas and Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super League. There was also talk of alleged interest from his former club, FC Barcelona, as well as Sevilla and Real Sociedad in La Liga and he has also been linked with various clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 32-year-old Spanish midfielder has already rejected all these approaches as his intention is to remain at Anfield this season, which is the last of his contract. In that sense, despite the fact that Jürgen Klopp could give Thiago a good amount of minutes this season in case he stays in the team, everything seems to indicate that there will be no contract renewal for him and, in case he stays at Anfield, he would leave next summer as a free agent. But it seems that there is still a chance, as there is another team that would be very interested in Thiago Alcantara and would be offering €12m to sign him.
According to journalist Loïc Tanzi, Liverpool have received an offer of €12m for Thiago Alcantara from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, and although the salary they are offering the Spanish midfielder has not been disclosed, it is expected that he will reject any approach as his intention remains to stay at Anfield.
