Despite the recent surprise signing of Wataru Endo by Liverpool, things do not seem to be going well for our team ahead of the match against Bournemouth on the second matchday of the Premier League, as Jürgen Klopp will have to think about how to solve the midfield problems that have been seen since the preseason and especially in the season opener against Chelsea.
It is clear that our team currently has a great weakness in midfield, something that Jürgen Klopp hopes to solve with the arrival of Wataru Endo. However, the board would still be looking for one more reinforcement in that position, where Cheick Doucouré seems to be the number one option according to Dave Ockop, Liverpool can be expected to make a big push to sign him before the transfer window closes.
However, for the game against Bournemouth Jürgen Klopp will have a difficult task, as it seems that Wataru Endo, the new reinforcement, is doubtful to play due to not having received his work permit, and with hours to go before kick-off it is unlikely, though not impossible, that this will happen.
In addition, Jürgen Klopp himself announced that both Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, two other alternatives to play in that defensive midfield role, will not be eligible for this match that will mark the team's debut at Anfield this new season, as he explained that although they are already training with the first team, they still need to be given time to return and he does not want to rush them. However, these would not be the only casualties of the team for tomorrow's match.
It has just been announced, through The Athletic, that Curtis Jones is out for the match against Bournemouth due to a sprained ankle, thus reducing the midfield alternatives for tomorrow's game. However, the same media assures that Jones should be ready to play next week.
