Undoubtedly one of the best strikers to ever wear the uniform of our beloved Liverpool is Uruguayan attacker Luis Suarez, who dazzled the world with his great goals at Anfield that won the hearts of the fans.
Suarez quickly became one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League, demonstrating his enormous versatility in scoring goals. Whether it was a header, left-footed or right-footed, from distance or a few yards from goal, Luis Suarez always found a way to score.
However, his departure left a gaping hole in Liverpool's forward line. A gap that the Reds board thought they could fill with the arrival of another striker, one who promised to be even better than the Uruguayan, as by that time he had become one of the most desired players by the big clubs in Europe and his value reached over 30 million euros.
We are talking about Mario Balotelli, the Italian striker who in 2014 arrived at Anfield with the task of becoming the team's new star player. However, his behaviour off the pitch always caused him problems and on the pitch he never performed as expected, scoring only 4 goals in a Liverpool shirt.
Mario Balotelli played for big and important teams in Europe, among them Liverpool and AC Milan. However, he never managed to establish himself as the great world figure that many said he could become. He currently plays for FC Sion in the Swiss league and is becoming less and less active with the team.
