Liverpool star holds terrible record with Lionel Messi

Recently a terrible comparison between British player Trent Alexander-Arnold and Argentine Lionel Messi in the current 2022-2023 season came to light, where they are the two players who have lost the most balls in the top 5 European Leagues, which include the Spanish League, the English Premier League, the French League, the German Bundesliga and Italy's Serie A.

The number is shocking, as Paris Saint-Germain's Lionel Messi has lost the ball 155 times, while Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has done so 154 times since the leagues kicked off last August. This figure has drawn criticism on social media for the way he has lost the ball, with some fans saying that when the Liverpool FC youth product loses the ball, his team are prone to conceding goals and losing games.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has made eight appearances for Liverpool FC so far, clocking up 660 minutes and one goal, which came in a 9-0 thrashing at Anfield against Bournemouth on Matchday 4 of the Premier League. Two of those eight games were in the UEFA Champions League, where the English full-back started against Napoli and Ajax, playing the full 90 minutes.

Alexander-Arnold is currently in the England squad for the UEFA Nations League matches, where he was unfortunately left on the bench in last Friday's 1-0 defeat to Italy. He will now look to get game time next Monday against Germany in England's final game ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

England and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be relegated to League B of the UEFA Nations League, as after five games and with one match to go in the group stage, England have just two points with a minus-six goal difference, compared to surprise leaders Hungary with 10 points, followed by Italy with eight and Germany with six in Group 3.
