Marco Asensio's contract expires at the end of the current season. Despite not being a starter, the striker has been demanding to ensure his continuity at Real Madrid, something that has not gone down well with president Florentino Pérez. Asensio earns around 4.5 million euros a year, but intends to increase his salary with this renewal.

While Florentino Pérez has proposed a salary of 4.8 million euros per season, the Balearic player does not agree. This is reported by journalist Tomás González. He speaks of an agreement for the renewal until 2027, but that is being shaken by the pretensions of Asensio. Marco wants to increase his salary to 6 million euros net per season.

Madrid want to be clear about which players they can plan for next season and do not want renewals to be on hold for too long.  There will be no negotiations or meetings, the offer for Asensio is on the table. Take it or leave it. Florentino considers that the renewal offer is good enough for him to decide to accept it and does not intend to negotiate. He doesn't care who his agent is or if he can leave Real Madrid.

Asensio could join Liverpool

According to Fichajes.net, Liverpool are keen on signing Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer. The Spanish striker is keen on playing in the Premier League and especially in the biggest team. This would help strengthen the attack after the sale of Sadio Mané.
