The Reds could be looking to sign a number of world-class stars as they look to build a quality squad for the future. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have fallen apart this season, with Sadio Mané's departure seeming to have hit the Reds hard. Another departure that the German manager has confirmed has affected his side has been that of Wijnaldum, who joined Paris Saint-Germain only to end up at Mourinho's Roma.
Since then, the Anfield outfit have been looking at the possibility of bringing in new reinforcements both in midfield and attack, as well as a defence in need of players for the future. With Liverpool approaching the end of an era and preparing for what is to come, the January transfer window could be a pivotal one.
Some of the young players he brought have impressed Jürgen Klopp
Chelsea and Liverpool's common desire and cost 16m, not Bellingham
Jude Bellingham: Jurgen Klopp's main target is to secure the arrival of the England midfielder from Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old has captivated both in the Bundesliga and at the World Cup, proving himself to be one of the biggest young stars in international football. Bellingham is undoubtedly making a name for himself in the future, which is why both Real Madrid and the Reds have him as their main target, although the Brits are one step ahead.
Cody Gakpo: Another of the sensations of the World Cup in Qatar has been the Dutch striker, who became the Netherlands' star player before their clash with Argentina, who ended up defeating the Oranje. Gakpo is putting up incredible numbers, with 18 goals and 18 assists in 34 appearances, so it is no surprise that with Luis Diaz's injury further exacerbating the problem in attack, Gakpo is one of the Anfield side's targets.
Josko Gvardiol: The Leipzig centre-back is having a great World Cup with Croatia, who have surprised everyone with their unstoppable progress after ousting Brazil, one of the favourites to lift the prestigious World Cup trophy. The 20-year-old Croatian is one of Klopp's big targets to revamp the defence and he could try to secure his signature in January.
