It seems imminent that our Liverpool will make one or two more signings before the transfer window closes this summer, as the team urgently needs to reinforce the midfield, as it has suffered many casualties in that sector and has only been able to finalize the arrival of two players, so now with just over two weeks to go until the end of the transfer window, the Anfield board is considering several options.
A few days ago it seemed that Liverpool's problem was solved with the record offer made by the Reds' board to Brighton to sign Moises Caicedo, but the 21-year-old Ecuadorian preferred to join Chelsea. After this, Liverpool turned their attention to Romeo Lavia, but the exact same thing happened and the team has been left empty-handed in the last two days, so now they must look for new (or old) options to reinforce the squad.
Several names have been mentioned in the last hours, however journalist Jac Talbot has reported that Liverpool are considering an approach to Wolverhampton to try to sign Matheus Nunes, the Portuguese midfielder who had an excellent game against Manchester United in the first Premier League matchday. Nunes had already been linked with Liverpool a year ago and according to Talbot, several Wolves players are reportedly looking to leave the club following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.
Matheus Nunes presents himself as one of the most versatile players in Wolverhampton's midfield, as he can play as a defensive, central and attacking midfielder, which makes him a real threat against opponents, as he already proved against Manchester United. Nunes is currently valued at around €45 million according to the Transfermarkt portal.
