The 17-year-old British player, Kaiden Gordon, is a midfielder with an all-England background, having to pick and choose from the youth set-up until arriving at Liverpool in February 2021 where he wowed manager Jürgen Klopp who just a few months after his arrival at Anfield gave him a trial in the team's third round cup win over Norwich City.
Since his arrival, Gordon had a breakthrough with the first team in that wonderful 2021-2022 season, and although he didn't see much action for that year, in this new cycle he quickly made his presence felt in Liverpool's 3-0 defeat to Leeds. After that match, the Briton was sidelined due to a pelvic injury that is directly related to his physical development.

Especially this season, Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on the injuries of all their players, closely monitoring Gordon's progress and he is already undergoing a specialised training programme so that he does not lose rhythm and as soon as he is available, he will be a regular part of the German coach's squad. Although the Reds have not set a specific date for his return, it is understood that the youngster is already out of danger and could soon make his return.
The sea of injuries, particularly in midfield, could open up a slim chance of Gordon being able to fill Klopp's eye and temporarily take his place in the team, but the fact is that the midfielder is still a project that Liverpool will take slowly, as evidenced by the pre-season in Austria where he was not active but was part of the training sessions and the atmosphere of the first team.
By January, the teenager scored his first goal in a 4-1 FA Cup third round home win over Shrewsbury Town, started in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final win over Arsenal and then made his Premier League debut as a late substitute in a 3-0 win over Brentford at Anfield.
