Liverpool FC's position in the table reflects the club's poor start to the season, which is atypical for the UEFA Champions League finalists and FA Community Shield 2022 winners. The lack of goals in recent games has been a headache for Jürgen Klopp, who has seen his side win games by the narrowest of margins at best.

That's why recent reports from 'The Big Island', reveal manager Klopp's interest in 'Saints' sensation Che Adams, the Scotsman who came through the youth ranks at Ilkeston Town FC, signing for Sheffield United in 2014, followed by Birmingham City in 2016 and Southampton in 2019, is now a major asset to the club who interestingly enough will face the Red's this weekend.

In an interview for The Guardian, Adams spoke about his family, where his French-born mum and Caribbean father decided to name him Che after the American socialist leader Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. "Che Guevara was in the news when I was born and I think it had something to do with where his body was buried, although I'm not sure," said the 26-year-old.

Che is an area striker, who uses his body and speed to make space for himself, he is also of proven quality and is a regular in the Scotland squad, where he played a full part in the previous UEFA Nations League group stage, sharing a dressing room with our star player Andrew Robertson, who has spoken highly of the striker who has five goals so far in the Premier League and EFL Cup.

Che Adams could interest Klopp

Adams could fill the space that Diogo Jota (muscle injury) and Luis Diaz (knee) have left in the Merseyside team, where the goals have fallen to Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez, the latter being the only one of the three who will go to the World Cup in Qatar. Klopp will get a close-up look at Adams when his side host Southampton at Anfield in the last official Premier League game before the World Cup break.
