Jurgen Klopp must be worried about Liverpool's current situation. The German manager has never started the Premier League with 2 out of a possible 9 points from the first three games in any of the seasons he has been in charge, after the defeat against Manchester United on Monday, and the first two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Liverpool suffered their first Premier League defeat since December as goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford put Manchester United 2-0 up. Mohamed Salah headed in to give the visitors hope but they were unable to equalise in the closing stages. After the defeat, German manager Jürgen Klopp spoke of his emotions about the game.
"Emotions? We lost. I think that says it all about the emotions I expected. That's about it. Very disappointed with the result," he commented. Asked by reporters if he was concerned about Liverpool's "attitude", the Reds boss said it was not a question that should be asked because in both games, against Fulham and ManU, the difference could not have been greater.
According to the German coach, he liked tonight's game, the line-up, especially the performance of some players, although he accepts that they were not good enough to win the game, but he believes that if it had been a draw, there would not be so much talk about the ranking, which now puts them in 16th place.
"(It was) a deserved draw after a start where United looked smarter than us, but it wasn't too long and in the situation I think a bit to wait. In a home game, can you imagine if they hadn't fought from the first second today? It would have been an interesting situation," added Klopp.
