With just hours to go before Manchester City and Liverpool kick off at the Eithad Stadium, the comparisons between the two clubs and their players continue to be all over the place, with the statistical revelation that Mohamed Salah is a far more complete and competitive striker than Erling Haaland so far this Premier League season causing great shock and surprise.

As reported by Anything Liverpool's X-rated account, Haaland is known to be ahead of the Reds star in terms of goals scored and how often he produces one, but in other stats involving assists, minutes played, goals scored, and match MVP, the Merseyside man has a slight edge, which together make him the most complete player in the comparison.

The evaluation of such parameters leaves the Man City attacker with a final average of 7.9 while the Reds' jya has obtained 8.0, with Mo' just 0.1 point above Haaland, a pleasant surprise for the Liverpool faithful who have witnessed the resurgence of their current top player.

Part of the good work Salah has done so far is due not only to his consistency in training or support from Jürgen Klopp during pre-season, but also in part to the good understanding he has gained with Darwin Nunez, who after making a leap in quality during the early part of the campaign has been able to be the Egyptian's new right arm.

Salah in search of a perfect game

While Mo' can blindly rely on Virgil van Dijk to keep Erling Haaland at bay for the entire game, this Reds player will be looking to get the win at any cost, with not only his goals but also his assists the perfect contribution to a win on one of Liverpool's toughest pitches in recent years.
