Cristiano Ronaldo became the new player of Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League until 2025. A move that comes hand in hand with the few offers he had received from big European teams and his intention to keep playing at a professional level. A strange decision, but understandable given that he is about to turn 38 years old.
The Portuguese's decision seemed to put an end to his career in the European elite, but in the last few hours it has been confirmed that he has a clause in his contract with the Saudi side that would allow him to return to the top level of European football.

According to Saudi Arabian media reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has a clause in his contract that states that, if Newcastle United qualify for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League, the Portuguese would have the possibility to decide where to play: whether to stay with Al-Nassr or go to the Magpies.
The owners of both clubs are the same, so they would have offered Cristiano Ronaldo the chance to return to Europe if Newcastle achieve their main objective. Eddie Howe's side are one of the Premier League's surprise packages and sit third in the table at the moment. If the Portuguese is back in the Premier League, everyone at Anfield will be watching closely as they want to see him play again against Liverpool and prove to them that they are the best team in Europe.
The Portuguese signed a contract until the summer of 2025 and will have a contract worth around 200 million euros with multiple variants. "Making history. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success, but also inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls, to be the best version of themselves. Welcome Cristiano Ronaldo to your new home," the club announced on its twitter account.
