Darwin Nunez became the most expensive signing for the Reds this season, paying the Eagles from SL Benfica a reported ¤75million plus variables for his services. The Uruguayan's arrival at Anfield brought with it much excitement from fans who expected him to perform better than he did in Portugal, as the bidding for him involved a huge financial outlay from Fenway Sports Group FSG, who are now the target.

After a dream debut in pre-season where Nunez scored four goals against RB Leipzig and reaffirming this in the FA Cup Community Shield, scoring one of the three goals that the Red's gave Manchester City, the Uruguayan began to win the affection of the fans who expected to sing a significant amount of goals, but to his misfortune, the 23 year old striker has become a failure

He was a champion, captain of Liverpool, now he has a sad ending

Nunez's comments following his introduction to The Pool were recently revisited, where he stressed that language has been the key to his tenuous relationship with Klopp. "He doesn't speak Spanish and I don't speak English, so we don't understand each other, but ever since I arrived at Liverpool, he has always given me confidence," Darwin said.

Darwin added that the German coach might be disappointed with his play, as it has been far below what he did in Portugal. "I think he wants to see what he saw in Benfica. For example in the games I played against Liverpool [in the Champions League last season], when I performed very well," said Nunez who also accepted that he must improve a lot for the following games.

Nunez can't communicate with Klopp

"He has told me that I have to be calm in games when it comes to finishing. He wants me to take a second longer, because if I shoot with anger, or I rush it, then it will always go badly. He asks me to take an extra second, with calmness, and I will score," said Darwin who hopes to get back on the scoresheet, something that hasn't happened since January 7 when he scored in the FA Cup 1/32 Final against Wolves, a match that was drawn and had to be replayed.
