Liverpool hosted West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday and Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring with a powerful right-footed strike that beat French goalkeeper Areola in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. This match precedes Saturday's clash with Arsenal where the Reds will be in contention for the Premier League leadership.

German coach Jurgen Klopp decided to make changes to his starting line-up, benching Egypt's Mohamed Salah and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson. Instead he started Uruguay's Darwin Nunez, who is struggling after going seven games without a goal.

Liverpool's goal came in the 28th minute from a great recovery by young defender Jarrel Quansah who stole a ball and gave it to Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai who did not hesitate and from outside the box hit a powerful right-footed shot that left the West Ham goalkeeper with no chance.

The celebration

In his celebration the Liverpool number 8 put his finger to his ear pretending not to hear the criticism he received after his performance in Sunday's goalless draw against Manchester United where Szoboszlai himself was expected to perform better. Dominik is still one of Liverpool's best players and now against West Ham he proved it.
