The summer transfer window has not turned out as our Liverpool board had hoped, as the club was initially shaping up to be one of the most active in terms of signing new players especially after last season's failure. However, so far, we have only been able to finalize the arrival of two players: Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian midfielder, formerly of RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg, arrived at Anfield this summer after Jürgen Klopp convinced the Reds' board to pay the 70 million euros termination clause. Liverpool fans are very happy with the signing of Szoboszlai as he is a player who fits perfectly with what the team needs: he is young, talented and also fully committed to helping the team achieve its goals in the upcoming campaign.
In addition, Dominik Szoboszlai seems to have all Liverpool fans in love as he has been sending nods to the club for years saying that Klopp is the best manager in the world and once he arrived he has shown himself and expressed his desire to play at Anfield as home and feel the support of the public. Even, when asked, he assured that the fact that our team will not play Champions League this year was never a factor for not signing with the club, as he had it clear since he heard the first rumor about Klopp's interest in him.
This season, one of Liverpool's primary objectives will be to end Manchester City's hegemony in the Premier League, where Erling Haaland, Szoboszlai's former RB Salzburg teammate and current league scoring champion, plays. Although he is still his friend, Dominik Szoboszlai has already sent a strong message to Haaland before the start of the Premier League.
Dominik Szoboszlai assured that he is still close to Erling Haaland and that the Norwegian striker warned him to be ready to play in the Premier League. "Before I joined Liverpool, he just said 'get ready!' but he knows I'm ready. He told me it is a crazy league and I'm going to love it," Szoboszlai said.
